Olayinka’s Journey: How One Computer Changed Everything
Olayinka’s life took an amazing turn when he received a refurbished desktop computer, donated by Gateshead College and restored by furbd. Before this, job hunting was a constant struggle—without access to digital tools, even simple tasks like searching or applying for jobs felt nearly impossible. But with his new computer, everything opened up.
From home, Olayinka could now look for jobs, enroll in online courses, and apply for opportunities with ease. Reflecting on the impact, he shared:
“It’s been a huge help to finding work and being able to apply for more opportunities. My children often use it to help with their homework too. I am very grateful.”
His hard work and newfound access to technology paid off. Within weeks, Olayinka landed a full-time job, bringing stability to his family and putting his future firmly in his own hands.
